ABOUT
I am a fine art and editorial photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. I'm also a consultant and professional printer by trade.

Born in Detroit, I have a Master’s degree in chemistry and worked as a scientist researching and developing novel materials, including the production of holographic films. In the evenings, my interest piqued in another kind of lab: the photography darkroom.

My personal work explores human and philosophical aspects of documentary photography. My photography peers into the social aspects of people inhabiting the built environment. My pictures incorporate a theatrical mood with the aesthetics and candor of contemporary photography with a post-modern psyche.

My photographs are widely circulated in commercial & editorial uses. These include projects commissioned by national magazines, including a cover-shoot with Lululemon Athletica's CEO. I also regularly photograph weddings and events in the photojournalistic style of street photography. As with personal projects, commissioned work is driven by a visual storytelling approach accented with a creative aesthetic. Recent clients include Oxford University Press and New York Magazine.

Along with my personal odyssey in photography, I manage a print lab producing works for other artists and professionals. I'm currently printing for Vancouver's Capture Photography Festival. Photographic works have also been produced with artists for exhibition at Vancouver's Initial Gallery and the Richmond Art Gallery.

Having an interest in the artistic, educational, and philosophical aspects of photography, I am regularly invited to give talks to local camera clubs, including a 2012 invited lecture at the University of British Columbia and the judging of an international photography competition sponsored by Sony Ericsson. I am a founding member of Strange.rs Collective, authored articles for Photosho Magazine, and was featured in Shutr FotoMagazine. In 2012, I published my first solo book: Drop Out of Art School.

I'm am available for a wide variety of editorial assignments and commissioned projects. To book a photoshoot or discuss an art project, please contact me.
